Representing an Ontario-based licensor of specialized fire fighting products in a trademark infringement and unpaid royalty. Resolved by litigation and negotiation in April 2009; and,

Representing shareholders in an ownership dispute. Resolved through a combination of a court hearing and negotiation in July 2009.

EBL reached a Consent to Judgment today in a Tax Court of Canada appeal of a Science Research and Experimental Tax (SRED) tax credit claim on behalf of Langley based logging business. In the result the taxpayer was awarded by CRA a $170,000 tax credit in respect of expenditures on innovative logging practices designed to create marketable lumber low-grade utility and pulp grade lumber.

As Ms. Peggy Aulenback of Paramount SRED Refunds (http://paramountsred.com), a firm that specializes in pursuing SRED claims, stated “… this is an excellent result in a longstanding appeal process by the business taxpayer that had been ongoing since 2003”.
